Creation


Q.   Who created you?
*  Al-lah created us, our parents, the heavens, the earth and all other things.

Q.   How did Al-lah create the world?
*  He created it by His might and decree.

Q.   What do we call those who do not believe in Al-lah?
*  They are called Kafirs (unbelievers).

Q.   Some people worship objects other than Al-lah or believe in two or three gods. What are such people called?
*  Such people are called Kafirs (unbelievers) or Mushriks (polytheists).

Q.   Will the polytheists attain Salvation?
*  The polytheists shall never attain salvation. They shall, instead be doomed on eternal punishment and affliction.

Q.   Who was Hadrat Muham-mad (peace be on him)?
*  Muham-mad (peace be on him) was Al-lah’s servant, His Messenger and Prophet. We Muslims are his followers or community (Um-mah).

Q.   Where was our Prophet Muham-mad (peace be on him) born?
*  He was born in the holy city of Makka in Arabia.

Q.   What were the names of his father and grandfather?
*  ‘Abdul-lah was the name of hid revered father and that of his grandfather was ‘Abdul-Mutalib.

Q.   What is the status of our Prophet among other prophets?
*  Our Prophet Muham-mad (peace be on him) occupies the highest place among the prophets and is most exalted of Al-lah’s creation.

Q.   Where did Hadrat Muham-mad (peace be on him) live throughout his life?
*  He lived in the holy city of Makka up to the age of fifty-three (53). Thereafter, in obedience to the command of Al-lah, he migrated to the hallowed city of Madina. He lived there for ten years and passed away at the age of 63.

Q.   What do we call the one who does not believe in Hadrat Muham-mad (peace be on him)?
*  He who refuses to believe Hadrat Muham-mad (peace be on him) to be the prophet of Al-lah is a Kafir.

Q.   What is the meaning of belief on Hadrat Muham-mad (peace be on him)?
*  The meaning of belief on Hadrat Muham-mad (peace be on him) isthat one should believe Hadrat Muham-mad (peace be on him) to be the Messenger of Al-lah and consider him to be the most distinguished of all the creatures of Al-lah. One should also love him and follow his commands.

Q.   How do we know that Hadrat Muham-mad (peace be on him) is the prophet of Al-lah?
*  We know that he is the prophet of Al-lah from his noble preachings. Such things cannot come from anyone except the prophet of Al-lah.

Q.   What is IMAN MUJMAL (Iman in brief)?
*  IMAN MUJMAL is:

AMANTU BIL-LAHI KAMA HUWA BI-ASMA’IHI WA SIFATHI WA QABILTU JAMI’A AHKAMIHI.

(I affirm my faith in Al-lah as He is with all His Names and Attributes and I accept all of His Commands.)      

Q.   What is IMAN MUFASSAL (Iman in detail)?
*  IMAN MUFASSAL is:

AMANTU BIL-LAHI WA MALA’IKATHIHI WA KUTUBIHI WA RUSULIHI WAL-YAUMIL-AKHIRI WAL-QADRI KHAIRIHI WA SHAR-RIHIMINAL-LAHITA’ALA WAL-BATHI BA’DAKMAUT.

      (I affirm my faith in Al-lah, His Angels, His Books, His Messengers, the day of judgment, in that the fate good and bad is predetermined by Al-lah and in coming to life after death (resurrection).)

KALIMAH


Q.   What is KALIMAH (the basic Creed of Islam)?
*  The KALIMAH of Islam is

LA ILAHA IL-LAL-LAH MUHAM-MADUR-RASULUL-LAH

(None but Al-lah is worthy of worship. Muham-mad (peace be on him) is His Messenger)

      This is called KALIMAH TAY-YIBAH (the good word) or KALIMAH TAUHID (the creed of the Oneness of Al-lah.)

Q.   What is KALIMAH SHAHADAH (the word of Testimony.)?
*  KALIMAH SHAHADAH is:

ASH-HADU A(N)L-LAILAHA IL-LAL-LAH WA ASH-HADU AN-NA MUHAM-MADAN ‘ABDUHU WA RASULUH.

(I bear testimony that none is worthy of worship but Al-lah, and I testify that Muham-mad (peace be on him) is the servant and Messenger of Al-lah.

Q.   What is the name of your religion or the religion of Muslims?
*  It is Islam.

Q.   What does Islam teach or which religion is known as Islam?
*  Islam teaches: Al-lah is One. None but He is worthy of worship. And Muham-mad (peace be on him) is the servant and prophet of Al-lah. The Holy Qur-an is the Book of Al-lah. Islam is the true religion. Islam teaches all good and noble things of this world and the world hereafter.
