Q.   What are the fundamentals of Islam?

  Five elements form the fundamentals of Islam.

Q.   What are the five elements that form the fundamentals of Islam?

  The five elements are:

1.    firm belief in the KALIMAH-TAY-YIBA or KALIMAH-SHAHADAH and its expression in words;

2.    saying Salat;

3.    paying Zakat (Alms giving);

4.    fasting in the holy month of Ramadhan;

5.    performing Hajj (Pilgrimage to Makka)
